Overview

The Non-Partisan is an organization committed to the original ideals that sparked the creation of the United States of America.  One historical statement sums up these ideals, and the focus of Non-Partisan:

“We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”

We believe that the government of the United States of America has moved away from these ideals, abandoning the needs of the people.  Now is the time for action, for America’s elected leaders to return to these principles, or to be replaced by leaders who will honor America’s traditional values.

We believe that in order to secure justice and liberty for ourselves and our posterity,  all Americans must be equal.  Equality in society and under the law is the foundation for all other freedoms.  In no circumstances should any individual or group be entitled to rights and privileges denied others.

We believe that in order to promote the general welfare America must remain economically strong.  A strong economy, however, must necessarily include all Americans.  The keys to a fundamentally strong economy are a well-educated workforce, access to high-quality, affordable health care, and equality of economic opportunity.  It is also necessary for government to follow fiscally responsible policies of taxation and expenditure.

Economic strength is also one of the keys to providing for the common defense.   An economically sound nation will enable America to research and develop the military strength needed to protect our people around the world.  America must reach out to other nations and build alliances based upon mutual protection, admiration, and trust.  In order to do this, America must rebuild and maintain her reputation as the “leader of the free world.”   

Every bit of legislation, executive order, or action of the United States government must reflect these values.  In order for America to be respected globally, America must honor her own principles.  Any agency or officer of the government that fails in this regard should be replaced immediately. 

Author Theodore Sturgeon once wrote:  “Every advance this species has ever made is the result of someone, somewhere, looking at his world, his neighborhood, his neighbor, his cave, or himself, and asking that next question. Every deadly error this species has committed, every sin against itself and its high destiny, is the result of not asking the next question, or of not listening to those who ask it.”  The Non-Partisan believes that it is the responsibility of all Americans to ask the next question, and to demand an honest answer from our leaders.  On these pages, we will be asking a number of questions, questions about who we are as a nation, where we are, and where we want to be.
